About Nourished Union

With the bustling lives we all lead, it’s vital now more than ever to make time for ourselves.  To reconnect inward, listen and find harmony within.

We believe, to achieve harmony in life we must cultivate a connected consciousness by nourishing our whole being – our body, mind, emotions and senses.

Nourish our body with delicious, energizing whole nutrients and physical practices that balance our being.

Nourish our mind to deepen our awareness  and re-connect with the present moment and others.

Nourish our emotions and senses by embarking on immersive experiences that go beyond our everyday.

Nourished Union curates programs and experiences that support individuals to embark on their personal wellness journey by nourishing one’s whole self.  Using the ancient teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda, we unlock its rich history to make the practices relevant in this modern world.

Our Philosophy:

Wellness is the balance of mind, body and soul.  It is more than a nice to have on your to-do list.  It is a right to all living beings, and the a way of living.

Our mind-body-emotions-senses know how to heal and be in balance, much like nature.  Though for most of us, this busy, bustling world has taken us off balance.  Nourished Union believes in living well everywhere we go, in all aspects of life.  Whether at home, work, on the road, or with family/friends – living your most conscious and connected life allows you to experience the now, come into balance and achieve living your most meaningful life.

We believe in WELL WITHOUT BORDERS.  Living well anywhere, anytime, anyplace.

About The Founder

Karen was set on a path of wellness from a young age. Her journey started on the stage, as a professional contemporary dancer and producer, eventually leading her to the corporate world, producing events. Throughout this time, she began healing her body with yoga. The magic of the practice soon took over, and she found herself coming back to the mat to seek balance mentally and emotionally. These effects eventually lead Karen to pursuing further studies in the holistic modalities to learn the deeper philosophies and practices of Yoga and Ayurveda.

This understanding of connecting to movement in a mindful way turned into a passion to share with others. Karen started teaching in 2005, maintaining a focus on building strength through form. Her asana classes unite her knowledge of functional anatomy with the deeper teachings of yoga to help her students practice with greater form, find balance between effort and ease, connect the mind to whatever challenge lies before them, all while staying present through awareness and breath. Whether its yoga, meditation, ayurvedic practices, holistic nutrition or even cycle (spin) and barre, Karen’s teachings focus on an experience that goes further than just the physical, by bringing attention to balancing one’s whole self and uncovering a deeper potential.

Through this wellness journey, Karen continued her passion for producing shows and events, and in 2016 created Nourished Union – a company focused on Health & Wellness programs and experiences. Her passion for helping others re-connect to their whole self and find ways to awaken their own healing power has defined everything that Nourished Union creates. Whether online programs, classes and community or live events and travel experiences, her commitment to connecting the mind, body and soul through memorable experiences has lead Nourished Union to working with many partners globally. Whether local restaurants, hotels, neighbourhood shops, cooking schools, farmers & producers, venues and movement studios, Nourished Union works to create meaningful experiences. She gives talks and leads workshops and events around unlocking the ancient wisdoms of Yoga and Ayurveda for the modern world; relating to corporate groups on the importance of real self-care in this busy world, helping busy moms manage their manic schedules, creating fun and safe ways for kids to love the kitchen AND good food, or helping people sustainably manage stress.
