Nourished Union creates experiences that allow individuals and groups to embark on their personal journey by nourishing one’s whole self in a fun and memorable way.

About The Founder

Karen could have never imagined her journey would take her from the stage, as a contemporary dancer, to the corporate world, producing events, to eventually leading a movement of healing through a holistic approach. Her journey started 15 years ago, when retiring from the dance world, and turning to yoga and spinning to heal old injuries. What she never anticipated was the deeper connection that awoke through her yoga practice. This connection spoke louder and louder over the years, pulling her back onto the mat, and eventually taking her practice from the physical, to a deeper mind-body-soul connection.

This knowledge of connecting to movement in a mindful way turned into a passion to share with others. Karen started teaching in 2005, keeping a strong focus on building strength through form. Her knowledge of the physical body and anatomy has helped people practice with greater form, and learn to balance effort with ease, while connecting the mind to whatever challenge lies before them, and staying present through awareness and breath. Whether its yoga, spin, barre or meditation, Karen’s classes focus on an experience that goes further than just the physical, by bringing attention to connecting one’s whole self and uncovering a deeper potential.

Whether on the bike, mat or in daily life – Karen continues to strive for balance in mind, body and soul.

Through this wellness journey, Karen continued her passion for producing shows and events, and in 2016 created Nourished Union – a company focused on Health & Wellness events for all. Her commitment to connecting the mind, body and soul through memorable experiences has lead Nourished Union to working with local restaurants, hotels, neighbourhood shops, cooking schools, farmers & producers, venues and movement studios in creating fun and interactive experiences. She gives talks to groups on the Importance of Self-Care in this Busy world, finds ways for busy moms to manage their manic schedules, creates engaging and safe learning experiences for kids to love the kitchen and good food, and helps people move stress out of the body and mind through spin, barre, yoga and meditation classes.

Karen is a certified in: Schwinn Cycling, 300hr RYT, Yoga Chakra Balance, Restorative, Yin, Pre/Post Natal, Meditation, Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching and is working towards becoming an Ayurvedic Specialist.
